The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum & Heritage Centre (NORMHC) is focused on the preservation of historical artifacts and pays tribute to Northern Ontario’s heritage and history in the railroading, mining, and lumbering industries. The museum is open from the Victoria Day weekend until Labour Day weekend and hosts a number of guided and self guided tours and special events as well as educational tours for school groups. The museum’s main operations are at 26 Bloor Street and the Heritage Centre is at 59 Young Street in the Greater Sudbury Community of Capreol.
The NORMHC is an active partner in the community and takes a leadership role in a number of community and economic development projects such as the Waterfront Community Improvement Plan, Capreol Days Festival, Communities in Bloom, and Capreol Winter Carnival, in addition to the annual community Canada Day Celebrations.
